Where It all began
Hults Bruk lies in Hult, just north of Norrköping in Östergötland, Sweden. The location was no coincidence. When the works were established in 1697, the narrow valley offered the resources needed for early industrial production. Forest surrounded the site, while streams and waterfalls provided waterpower for the hammers that worked the iron.
Around the forge grew more than a factory. A community developed – with homes, roads and generations of families whose lives became connected to Hults Bruk. More than three centuries later, the landscape still tells the story. The buildings have changed. Technology has evolved. Electricity long ago replaced water as the source of power.
But we are still here.
Still in Hult.
Still making axes.
The places behind our axe names
Our axes are named after places in and around Hults Bruk – places connected to the landscape, history and people that have shaped our forge for more than three centuries.
Names such as Bråbo, Rodga, Getå, Sätra and Pjältån all have their roots close to home. From historic districts and old estates to farms, forests, ravines and waterways, each place carries a part of the story of Hults Bruk and the landscape that surrounds us.
It is our way of keeping that connection alive. Every axe is forged here at Hults Bruk, and through its name, it carries a small piece of where it comes from.
