The Jakobsdal is a compact splitting axe designed for preparing firewood wherever a larger splitting axe would be unnecessary or less practical. Its splitting-pattern head is shaped to drive into the wood and push the fibres apart efficiently, making it well suited to small and medium-sized logs as well as further splitting already processed firewood into smaller pieces and kindling. The compact format provides good control while still delivering the power needed for effective splitting. Easy to carry and convenient to keep close at hand, the Jakobsdal is equally at home by the woodpile, at the cabin or around camp. The head is hand-forged at Hults Bruk, hand-sharpened and fitted to a curved American hickory handle. Compact, powerful and purpose-built for splitting, the Jakobsdal is a practical working axe made for regular use.

Hults Bruk axe heads are forged from customized high-quality steel, with an alloy specifically engineered for this purpose, providing exceptional strength and performance. The steel is produced completely CO₂-neutral and is fully recyclable. Each head is hand-forged using the open-die free forging method. The axe head is then hardened and tempered for long-lasting durability. With a hardness of approximately 54–56 HRC on the Rockwell scale, these axe heads offer superior sharpness and edge retention. The cutting edge is hand-ground and polished to ensure precision and reliability with every swing. As one of the final steps in the forging press, each axe head is proudly stamped with the traditional Hults Bruk mark - a symbol of quality and craftsmanship.
